53 students sickened in norovirus outbreak at San Francisco school
SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU Staff) - School officials say 53 students and 4 teachers have been stricken with norovirus in an apparent outbreak at a San Francisco elementary school.
District officials say they noticed the symptoms when students returned from winter break at McKinley Elementary, located at 14th and Castro streets.
While they do not plan on closing the school, they are going through and giving it a thorough cleaning and are working with the health department to help prevent the spread of the virus.
