Body found near Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay
HALF MOON BAY, Calif. (KTVU) - The San Mateo County Sheriff's Office says they've recovered a body from the water near the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay.
According to authorities, several people have been swept out to sea in the last several weeks, so the identity of the boy is unclear.
This could be linked to the case of a boogie boarder who was swept to sea in the same area last week.
Naphtali Moimoi, 18, was with classmates from Hayward High school when he went with a group of friends to Poplar Beach. He was on a boogie board when friends saw him start to struggle.
His body had not been located since.
We'll update this story when the coroner identifies the body found on Sunday.
