Iphones already went on sale in Asia early Friday morning and they were available on the West Coast at 8 a.m.

Two versions of the new iPhone will be in stores on Friday: the iPhone 10S and the iPhone 10SX Max. That phone is the largest iPhone ever made and is seen as an improvement on the iPhone 10, which was released last year.

In the Bay Area, a handful of people camped outside the apple store in Palo Alto overnight.

“I think it's just cool,” said customer Andrew Park. “This is one of the flagship stores. It's just more rewarding when you're the first to go buy it in the store.”

Bob O’Donnell, president of Techanalysis Research said there are a lot of people who wanted the bigger screen and the chips inside the device. The new phones also come with a bigger price tag.

The most expensive version costs $1,500. A regular size, and less expensive version, the iPhone 10R, is due out in October.
