Kitten rescued on freeway in Burlingame now up for adoption

BURLINGAME, Calif. (BCN) - A Good Samaritan got out of his car in rush hour traffic on U.S. Highway 101 in Belmont last month to rescue a kitten that was trying to cross the road, presumably to get to the other side.
Now that little black-and-white male kitty - named Leo, in honor of the man who saved him - is up for adoption at the Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA.
"This little kitten's story would have been much different had he not been rescued by a quick-thinking Good Samaritan and brought to us," said Buffy Martin Tarbox of the humane society.
When Leo (the kitten) was first brought in, he was too young for adoption. He was placed in the kitten nursery where he received specialized care. He is now 2 months old and has been neutered and vaccinated.
