Police chase of robbery suspects ends in crash, all 4 suspects in custody
OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - A police chase through Oakland ended when the suspects crashed into a home and bailed on foot.
Oakland police say the suspects were involved in a robbery at the Lake Chabot Public Market in Castro Valley around 3:15 p.m. Thursday.
Police determined the suspects were in a stolen 2011 black Subaru and began pursuing them on westbound interstate 580. The chase exited the freeway and ended when the car crashed into the garage of a home in the 2500 block of 108th Avenue and MacArthur Boulevard in Oakland.
Multiple people bailed on foot from the car where police detained four people including the driver. Police did a yard to yard search using drones and K-9's looking for an additional suspect. After reviewing KTVU's chopper video, they determined there were only four suspects, not five.
Police believe the suspects have been involved in a series of robberies in San Leandro and Castro Valley.
