Police investigating officer-involved shooting in Sonoma County

SONOMA COUNTY, Calif. (BCN/KTVU) - A suspect was shot by law enforcement Thursday evening in unincorporated Sonoma County, according to preliminary information from authorities.

Just before 6 p.m., Sonoma County sheriff's officials reported that an officer-involved shooting occurred in the area of Sixth and Morgan streets.

Police said a suspect has been detained and there is no threat to the public.

Police are asking people to avoid the area.
