San Francisco Mayor calls for MLB to discipline Giants CEO Larry Baer
SAN FRANCISCO (KTVU) - San Francisco Mayor London Breed is calling on Major League Baseball to discipline San Francisco Giants CEO Larry Baer.
The comes after video showed Baer and his wife arguing in Hayes Valley.
The video shows Baer grabbing for a cell phone in his wife's hand. She topples off the chair to the ground, screaming. In the video clip first reported by TMZ, you can hear her screaming, 'Oh my god. Help." It's unclear what exactly led to the altercation or at one point during it the video was taken.
Breed wrote a letter that read in part, "When the incident first occurred involving Larry Baer and his wife, the San Francisco Police Department immediately began an investigation. That investigation is ongoing, but regardless of the outcome, Major League Baseball needs to send a message that any and all acts of violence against women is unacceptable."
Baer took a personal leave of absence after the incident.
