SFPD officer shot in the Outer Mission, suspect in custody

Police were involved in a shooting in an Outer Mission business Wednesday afternoon that left an officer, a suspect and four others injured, officials said.  

The incident began when officers responded to a report of a man with a gun on the 200 block of Amazon Street at 4:30 p.m. The investigation led officers to Amazon Barber Shop on the corner of Geneva Avenue and London Street. Officers made contact with several individuals inside the business and gunshots were exchanged.

Officials said six people were injured in the incident, including the officer and the suspect. The suspect involved is in custody and there is no ongoing threat to the community. Both the officer and the suspect are in fair condition. One minor was shot. There is no comment on the minor's condition.

The four others injured were all males between the ages of 24-48 years old. Of the four, one is in critical condition and one is in serious condition. The other two are in fair condition. 

Witnesses tell KTVU the officer was shot in the leg. They described seeing several people in hand cuffs.

The officer, who works out of the Ingleside station, was transferred to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital.

This is an active and ongoing investigation. Investigations are being conducted by the San Francisco Police Department's Homicide detail, District Attorney's Office, Department of Police Accountability and the Internal Affairs Division.
