Tractor trailer catches on fire, leaks fuel in Castro Valley

CASTRO VALLEY, Calif. (KTVU) - At least three lanes were blocked on eastbound Interstate Highway 580 just east of Eden Canyon Road near Castro Valley because of a tractor trailer that caught on fire early Wednesday, according to California Highway Patrol officials.

The fire was first reported at 5:36 a.m. The cab was filled with cardboard. No one was injured.

A Sig-alert was issued at 6:07 a.m. and there were reports of fuel leaking on the freeway.
