Uber driver arrested for burglary following airport drop off

An Uber driver was arrested for burglarizing a San Mateo home shortly after dropping a customer off at the airport.

Jackie Gordon Wilson, 38, of Rancho Cordova was working as an Uber Driver when he dropped customers off at the airport on April 6 .

Ring surveillance video showed Wilson returning to the customer's home within an hour in an apparent attempt to burglarize the home.

An alarm went off so Wilson left that area and went to a home a few blocks away on Nash Drive.

The home was ransacked and multiple items were believed to have been stolen.

The homeowner on Nash Drive uploaded the video to Ring's community sharing platform where someone identified the suspect as an Uber driver. The driver was later identified as Wilson.

Wilson was arrested at his Rancho Cordoza home where detectives recovered some items that were stolen from the home.

Wilson was booked at San Mateo County Jail for burglarizing the Nash Drive home and attempted burglary at the Rand Street home.

Uber released the following statement to KTVU, “We removed the driver’s access to the app as soon as we were made aware of the allegations and stand ready to assist police in their investigation.”
