At least one person died in an accident involving an overturned dump truck southbound U.S. Highway 101 north of the Caesar Chavez off-ramp in San Francisco, according to California Highway Patrol.

CHP Officer Vu Williams says a Muni bus and dump truck collided. The driver of the dump truck was killed. Several people complained of injury on the Muni bus. Two of the passengers were transported to hospital. The bus suffered minor damage.

The accident was reported just before 4 p.m. at the very busy hospital curve section of the highway.

Fire officials said on social media around 4:45 p.m. that one person was critically injured and five people suffered minor injuries.

The two right lanes of 101 were shutdown for several hours while CHP investigated.

All lanes were reopened at around 7:50 p.m., according to officials. There are residual delays.

The public is asked to avoid the area.
