1 hurt in shooting at Oakland homeless encampment
OAKLAND, Calif. - Oakland police are investigating a shooting that happened at a homeless encampment on Tuesday afternoon.
Officers were called to the area of E. 8th Street and Alameda Avenue, just after 3:30 PM after receiving reports of a shooting, according to the Oakland Police Department.
When officers arrived they found a victim suffering from at least one gunshot wound.
Paramedics who responded to the scene transported the victim to a local hospital.
The victim's current condition is not yet known.
Authorities have not said what led up to the shooting or provided any information on a possible suspect.
