18,000 PG&E customers lose power over equipment failure

Thousands of PG&E customers in the San Jose area lost power on Monday afternoon, according to PG&E.

Around 1:30 p.m., about 18,000 customers lost power due to an equipment failure at a PG&E substation, the utility said.

PG&E crews addressed the problem and by 4:14 p.m. all power had been restored, a spokesperson for the utility said.
