2-acre brush fire in San Jose

A vegetation fire has burned just over two acres this afternoon by the Capitol Expressway in San Jose, a fire department spokesman said.

The fire was reported at 4:38 p.m. at Capitol Expressway and Tuers Road, fire Capt. Mitch Matlow said.

The left side of the fire is contained while firefighters are still working to contain the right side.

Matlow said no structures are involved yet and no horses are threatened. The fire is not far from Coyote Creek and Andrew Hill High School at 3200 Senter Road.

Matlow said a homeless encampment was involved.
