MILPITAS, Calif. - A man, woman and two children were found dead inside an apartment in Milpitas, police said Wednesday.
The four were found on Tuesday just before 9 p.m. at Turing Apartments on McCandless Drive, according to Lt. Tyler Jamison.
"Family members reported they hadn't spoken with their loved ones for several days," he said.
Police said officers were called out to the Turing Apartments to conduct a welfare check and when they arrived, they found the man, woman and two children inside "with obvious signs of death," Jamison said.
Police did not describe the relationship of the four to each other. They called it an isolated incident.
They are asking for patience as officers try to determine the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
"Our detectives are diligently working to gather evidence, speak with family members and work with the coroner's office to determine the cause of death," Jamison said.
Those who live and work nearby said they were in disbelief.
"Shocking to hear that they're saying a family. I know anybody dying is serious, but kids too," said Savannah Ray Dizon. "This is a super quiet neighborhood."
Turning Apartments sits steps from the Great Mall and has high-end retail spaces on the ground level.
Most of the people who come to Orange or here at Laser Away, we know them. They live in this neighborhood," said Dizon.
Police said they will not be releasing any more information at this time.
