2 bodies found in floodwaters during atmospheric river

GUERNEVILLE, Calif. - Authorities in Sonoma County are investigating the deaths of two people during a recent atmospheric river.

Officials discovered their bodies early Saturday.

One of the victims was in a flooded car near Mays Canyon Road, just off State Route 116 in Guerneville.

Law enforcement officials said they think the victim tried to drive through the rising waters.

The second body was found in Piner Creek near Centurion Drive.
