2 Brentwood teens suspected of kidnapping, robbery
Brentwood police arrested two juveniles who allegedly assaulted, robbed, kidnapped and carjacked a man last week.
Police were called at 6:40 p.m. Dec. 22 to the area of McClarren Road and Griffith Lane in response to a reported robbery.
Officers found a man who told them the suspects assaulted him, took his cell phone and demanded that he transfer money via a cash app.
The suspects allegedly forced the victim into his own vehicle and began driving him to a location where they could retrieve more money. Fortunately, the victim was able to escape the vehicle and call the police, sustaining minor injuries during the incident.
Officers identified the residence where the suspects allegedly were. Given the seriousness of the situation and prior police contacts at that same location, officers deployed their armored rescue vehicle for a safe approach, they said.
The suspects were subsequently called out and detained from a residence located in the 700 block of Griffith Lane.
The suspects, identified as a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy, both from Brentwood, were arrested on suspicion of robbery, carjacking, kidnapping, and other related offenses. They were transported to juvenile hall.
