48 still without power after vehicle slams into Hayward power pole

PG&E Friday morning is reporting approximately 48 customers are still without power in Hayward after a vehicle crashed into a power pole.

The incident, which was first reported around 4:45 a.m., initially left 3,998 people without power.

Power was restored to all but 340 customers by 5:30 a.m. and to all but 48 customers by 6:30 a.m., according to PG&E.

The crash occurred near the intersection of Hathaway Avenue and Lansing Way and knocked down a power pole.

PG&E crews remain at the scene but do not have an estimate as to when power will be restored to the remaining customers who are still without power.
