5.0 magnitude earthquake hits Northern California
An earthquake measuring 5.0 struck in Shasta County in Northern California on Friday morning.
The United States Geological Survey said the quake was west of the town of Fall River Mills.
It shook the ground at 10:24 a.m. The USGS characterized it as weak shaking.
The Shake Alert warning system was triggered by the earthquake, according to the USGS.
