SAN JOSE, Calif. (KTVU) - The Mega Millions jackpot ticket was sold at Ernie's Liquors in San Jose, Lottery officials confirmed Tuesday.
The winning ticket was the only nationwide to match all six numbers for the $543 million prize.
The estimated jackpot prize amount has been revised based on final sales totals and is now worth an $543 million, up from an estimated $522 million. The final lump-sum cash option is $320.5 Million, up from $308.1 million.
The winner was up against some tough odds. The chance of having the correct combination of numbers is roughly one in 300 million. The winner has not come forward yet and has 365 days from the date of the draw to claim.
KTVU was at the store on South White Road the night the jackpot winner was announced.
We spoke to Gawal Sachdev, the store's owner, "It's all excitement here. That's all is see here because a lot of people are pouring in here because they heard the news from the internet or maybe on the TV channel, or radio," Sachdev said.
Those winning numbers in the evening's drawing were: 01-02-04-19-29, Mega Ball: 20, Megaplier: 3
The store was set to close at 11 p.m. but a party like atmosphere kept them open a little later than usual.
