70,000 pounds of grapes and diesel spilled on the highway near Gilroy.
GILROY, Calif. - A total of 70,000 pounds of grapes and some diesel spilled early Wednesday morning on the highway near Gilroy, forcing slow traffic and a big cleanup.
The spill was reported just after 4 a.m. on northbound US Highway 101 at Highway 25.
The driver of the truck was injured, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Traffic was backed up to San Juan Batista.
