SAN JOSE, Calif. (BCN) - An 88-year-old pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle Friday morning in San Jose.
The man was walking across Williams road at Camellia Way at 10:58 a.m. when he was hit by a silver 2005 Pontiac, according to the San Jose Police Department.
The victim was walking outside the crosswalk, police said.
He was transported to the hospital but died at 2:55 p.m. Police said the driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and was cooperative with investigators.
Alcohol is not suspected as a contributing factor in the incident at this time.
Police said this is the 15th traffic fatality in San Jose this year, and the 11th involving a pedestrian.
