Sitting in the living room of the south Philly home where she was born 91 years ago, Gaetana Ramagnano, they call her Tina, is still beaming over her July wedding.
"I was delighted. I was absolutely so excited about the whole thing!" Gaetana Ramagnano said.
Not actually her wedding. It was the marriage of her great-nephew Christopher Panna and his fiancée Lumina.
The bride-to-be asked Tina if she would like to participate.
"I thought they made a mistake. I thought they meant me to be a maid of honor. And I said, 'you mean maid of honor.' And Lumina said, 'no, no we want you to be the queen of flowers," she said "You know, I'm not just the old biddy."
As the "queen of flowers" Tina bought herself a pretty pink floral dress and hat and handed out silk rose buds to the attendees.
"Coming down and everyone says, 'it's Aunt Tina!' You heard this big loud whisper in the whole audience!"
The wedding photos are now back and thanks to the Internet, family members are reliving the excitement of Tina's role.
Tina loved the wedding, but most of all this 91-year-old widow. She lost her beloved Buddy eight years ago, loved the idea of being asked to be part of someone's special day.
"I was thrilled. I thought whoever heard of that? And I thought it was funny and I just kept telling everybody that I should be in the Guinness book as the oldest flower girl in history!"
