ANTIOCH, Calif. - A man was shot and killed inside his Antioch home on Friday morning.
Police said they got a call from a concerned neighbor around 7:30 Friday morning, revealing they heard shots fired on East Eighth Street near A Street.
"This shouldn’t be happening out here," said Diego Marquez. "Like, it’s just not okay."
47-year-old Efren Reynoso was identified by his wife as the victim.
Police told KTVU Reynoso’s roommate was home at the time but not in the same room where he was shot at least once.

Marquez knew Reynoso from the neighborhood and had just seen him the day before the shooting.
"I couldn’t even believe it. I was just thinking about it the whole day over work," said Marquez. "Like, that’s like right next to where I live. Like, it’s just not cool."
Other neighbors described Reynoso as a great guy, and a father.
"I hope they’re alright. It’s tough stuff to go through," said Chris Evans who has lived across the street with his family for five years, and is concerned about crime in Antioch, a city that has typically seen around 10 murders per year since 2018.
"It’s sad. I mean, any time, it’s sad to hear about. It’s not good for the neighborhood, community. It’s not a good look," said Evans. "I’d like to think where I’m at is pretty good, but there’s probably some places I wouldn’t go at night."
It is unclear if police have recovered any surveillance video of a possible suspect coming or going from the home, leaving neighbors on edge.
"We don’t want to be hearing about people, our friends, dying," said Marquez. "We should just try to keep the peace out here."
Investigators spent all day inside the home, piecing together clues to figure out who pulled the trigger, ending Reynoso’s life.
