Batch of apple juice from El Dorado Co. tests positive for E. coli
A batch of cider from an apple farm in El Dorado County tested positive for E. coli.
Health officials say the contaminated apple juice came from the High Hill Ranch in Camino, a little town along Highway 50.
The test results come about 10 days after the farm voluntarily pulled the product from its shelves.
El Dorado health officials say seven people in Sacramento County got sick with E. coli after drinking the cider.
One person was hospitalized and is expected to recover.
People who head to High Hill Ranch now will still find cider for sale but it's from Barsotti Juices.
It has been pasteurized and is safe to drink.
