Coming soon: Chick-fil-A is getting ready to open another Bay Area location. The new restaurant is set to start serving the chain’s famous chicken sandwiches and waffle fries in San Jose's Silver Creek neighborhood, within miles from another Chick-fil-A.

The new site will open at 3123 Silver Creek Road. It’s about four-and-a-half miles from the chain’s existing Silver Creek Valley and 101 restaurant.

What we know:

In an email correspondence, Chick-fil-A, Inc. said that the new restaurant "is slated to open soon, pending any delays."

The company did not provide an exact date, but KTVU has learned that it could come as early as next month.

By the numbers:

Chick-fil-A currently has 26 restaurants in the Bay Area.

The latest opening would mark the chain’s sixth San Jose location, according to the company’s location listing.

Plans are reportedly in the works for yet another restaurant in the city, located in West San Jose at 4400 Stevens Creek Boulevard.

But Chick-fil-A declined to comment on that report, only saying, "While we would very much like to have more restaurants in the San Jose area, we have no details to share regarding Stevens Creek Promenade at this time."

Local perspective:

In regard to the upcoming opening of its new site, the Atlanta-based chain said, "We look forward to serving the San Jose community."

The company added that the local owner-operator, Ashleigh Andrade, is excited to offer an "environment of genuine hospitality," good food, and career opportunities for the area.

Andrade will be employing about 120 full-and part-time team members, Chick-fil-A said.

A check of the job listings for the new site showed five current openings, with pay ranging from $20 an hour to $31 an hour.
