Bicyclist killed in car collision in San Francisco: CHP
SAN FRANCISCO - A male bicyclist in San Francisco was killed after being struck by an SUV early Saturday, officials said.
The California Highway Patrol said they received a call about a biker that was struck by a Chevy Tahoe while riding along southbound 101 near the Silver Avenue off-ramp.
Officials didn't specify the route the Tahoe man was driving, but said the driver remained at the scene, cooperated with police, and that he was not intoxicated.
Officials said it's possible the bicyclist, who was not identified, was struck by more vehicles, but are unsure how many actually hit the cyclist.
The bicyclist was described as a man between 30–35 years old. Lanes were shut down temporarily before reopening around 5:30 a.m.
