Big rig slams into utility pole in Fremont, causing power outage and road closure

FREMONT, Calif. (KTVU) - A big rig slammed into a power pole in Fremont early Thursday morning, causing a power outage and the closure of a major intersection.

Police sent an advisory about 5:30 a.m. saying that Automall Parkway at Boscell Road near Costco was closed in both directions and several PG&E customers had lost power. The estimated time to restore the power about 7 a.m. or 8 p.m., PG&E said. No injuries were reported.
