Billboard going up calling for removal of Stanford sexual assault judge
HAYWARD, Calif. (KTVU) - A national women's advocacy organization launched a new billboard Tuesday, calling for the removal of the Santa Clara County judge, in the Stanford sex assault case.
The digitial billboard is going up on along Highway 92 in Hayward, a half mile west of Clawiter Road.
Organizers hope to gain more support for a petition to remove Judge Aaron Persky from the bench.
He has been under fire, since he sentenced Brock Turner to six months in jail, for the sexual assault of an uncounscious woman at Stanford University, during a fraternity party.
Prosecutors had asked for six years in state prison.
The billboard will be up for a month, and be part of a rotating series of ads.
