Body discovered in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park

Elk Glen Lake in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park.

A body was discovered Sunday morning in Elk Glen Lake in Golden Gate Park, police say. 

Police and firefighters arrived at the scene shortly after getting a 911 call at around 9 a.m. Crews began recovering the body shortly after. 

The person's identity and cause of death are still unknown at this time. 

Elk Glen Lake is located along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive near 25th Ave.
