A woman died from her injuries after being mauled in a dog attack in Boston earlier this week. Two police officers also suffered injuries in the incident.

The officers were taken to an area hospital and are expected to be alright, police tell WFXT-TV in Boston.

Officers responded to a report Monday of people bitten by a dog and located a woman suffering from life-threatening injuries and a man who was also injured, according to WFXT-TV, citing police.

The unidentified woman was taken to an area hospital where she later died from her injuries and authorities did not have details on the extent of the man’s injuries.

Police tell WFXT-TV that the attack occurred inside a home and the people attacked owned the dog. Two officers responding to the incident were also bitten by the dog, and it led another police officer to shoot at the animal.

WFXT noted that Boston Animal Control transported the dog who was shot, and police did not share information on the animal’s condition.
