Voters in the California primary on June 7 will see a choice for state assembly on their ballots and, in some districts, will also vote for a state senator.

The California assembly has 80 members who are up for election every two years. The state senate has 40 members, and this year, half of the seats are on the ballot, which is why not every voter will see a race on the ballot.
