Cardinal Newman and other schools reopen, three months after North Bay fires
SANTA ROSA, Calif. - Cardinal Newman High School and St. Rose Catholic schools in Santa Rosa will reopen on Monday for the first time, three months after the North Bay fires.
More than 600 students have been attending classes at four different parish locations-- while the campus here was cleaned up and portable classrooms were installed.
Cardinal Newman students will return to 22 new portable classrooms that have been delivered to the campus-- to replace the classrooms-- library-- and administrative buildings destroyed in the fire.
Later on Monday, first responders and community members will help welcome the students and teachers back to campus during an assembly.
