OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - A carjacking in Dublin early Tuesday ended in the arrests of at least two suspects after a high-speed pursuit that ended on the streets of east Oakland.
The two suspects were taken into custody around 7 a.m. after crashing the stolen mini-van they were in and attempting to run from the scene on foot.
At least one of the suspects was taken to a local hospital for treatment. His condition was not immediately available. Authorities said the incident may have involved as many as four male suspects.
Police said the suspects stole a black mini-van and other officers were told to be on the look out when the vehicle was spotted in the Castro Valley. The driver refused to stop and the vehicle was pursued by officers onto the westbound lanes of Interstate 580, with speeds reportedly reaching more than 100 miles per hour.
The car eventually exited the freeway, and crashed in the area of 46th Avenue and Bond Street in east Oakland, near International Boulevard.
Officers from the Alameda County Sheriff's Office, the Highway Patrol and Oakland Police were involved in the incident.
The identities of the suspects were pending.
