OAKLAND, Calif. (KTVU) - This coming week there's an incredibly rare event on the astronomical calendar.
It's called a "Super Blue Blood Moon."
Early Wednesday morning there will be a total lunar eclipse and we'll have the best view here on the west coast.
It begins at 3:48 a.m. and totality will start at 4:51 a.m.
The moon will have a reddish-tint, which is called a “blood moon,” and will be as close as it ever gets to earth -- a supermoon -- making it 14 percent brighter than usual. It’s also the second full moon during a single month – which is called a “blue moon.”
All three. One morning.
