CHP: Box truck 'burst into flames' at Benicia-Martinez Bridge; lanes closed

MARTINEZ, Calif. (KTVU) - A box truck traveling Friday on northbound Interstate 680 caught fire when attempting to go through the toll plaza at the Benicia-Martinez Bridge, according the California Highway Patrol. 

Officials said the vehicle was attempting to pass through the toll when it "bust into flames" at about 12:44 p.m.. Crews closed multiple middle lanes, leaving access open only for motorists with FastTrak on the far left and two lanes on the far right open for cash paying commuters.

There was no crash and the fire started within the interior of the truck, officials said.
