1 dead, 1 injured after cars crash through fence near Cliff House in San Francisco

SFFD said that the two victims in the fatal car crash near San Francisco's Cliff House have been identified, though their names have not been make public. SFPD and US Park Police are investigating.

One person is dead after two vehicles crashed through a fence off Point Lobos Avenue near the Cliff House in San Francisco on Tuesday evening, according to the fire department.

The first 911 call about the crash came in at 4:40 p.m., according to San Francisco Fire.

The 17-year-old boy held in the shooting of 49ers rookie receiver Ricky Pearsall faces a slew of charges, including attempted murder, assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and attempted second-degree robbery.

For some unknown reason, two vehicles traveling on Point Lobos Avenue veered off the roadway, through a fence, and onto the cliff below, SFFD said.

Both vehicles contained single occupants. One has died and the other received minor injuries.   San Francisco Police have taken over the investigation into the crash.

Point Lobos Avenue remained closed in both directions as of 5:40 p.m.
