OAKLAND, Calif. - Oakland Fire Department is working a four-alarm fire on westbound I-580 at the Edwards Avenue exit, where a truck fire has spread to brush and to the hills Monday evening. Officials say the fire is now contained.

According to Oakland Fire Department's battalion chief, the fire came within 40 to 50 yards of homes along Blue Rock Court in the Leona Quarry.
Crews extinguished hot spots and in a late evening update, fire officials said they are mopping up. As many as 70 personnel responded to the fire. Officials said between three and five acres burned.
No injuries have been reported, according to the department's incident commander.
"We'll have an engine on scene all night to continue to monitor this fire for hot spots," Battalion Chief Linda Buell said.
Traffic is impacted on the interstate with lane closures. California Highway Patrol is assisting.
The fire department received mutual aid from East Bay Parks and Alameda's city fire department as well as Fremont's fire department which provided an infrared camera-equipped drone.
