DALY CITY, Calif. - The driver of a car was killed and the passenger wounded in a shooting Thursday afternoon, Daly City police, say.
Officers responded to the 6000 block of Mission Street at 2 p.m. on the report of a shooting and a collision. The victim's vehicle had several bullet holes and its occupants were both struck by rounds.
Police alerted the public about a half hour later to avoid the area and that traffic was being diverted.
The crime scene investigation unfolded at the intersection of Liebig Street where there are multiple businesses in the area, including a U.S. Post Office.
There are no known suspects, but police said they fled in two separate vehicles westbound on Liebig from Mission after the shooting.
The victims' identities have not been released. The driver who was shot died at the scene. The passenger was taken to a hospital and was said to have non-life threatening injuries.
Video shared on an online safety and surveillance app showed first responders and a heavy police presence in front of Reitenbach's Taekwondo. At least one person was put on a gurney and taken away in an ambulance.
