Daly City police make arrest in fatal shooting of a woman in residential neighborhood

DALY CITY, Calif. - Daly City police have made an arrest in a deadly shooting that claimed the life of a 27-year-old woman, investigators announced on Tuesday. 

The coroner identified her as Frances Kendra Chan Lucero.  

The shooting happened on Monday night, shortly after 7:30 p.m. in a residential neighborhood on Eastgate Drive near Glenwood Avenue, not far from the Westlake Shopping Center.

Investigators said Lucero, a resident of the city, "was shot multiple times and pronounced deceased at the scene."

Video from the scene shows an intersection of the residential neighborhood shut down by police. 

Police said their investigation into the homicide led them the arrest of a 27-year-old Daly City man, who was booked in to the San Mateo County Main Jail.
