Day of action protest for nationwide mnimum wage increase
Protests are taking place across the country Thursday, calling for a nationwide minimum wage of $15 an hour.
A group of demonstrators gathered at a McDonald's restaurant in San Francisco at 6 a.m.
While Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill that raises California's minimum wage to $15 an hour by the year 2022, rally organizers want to see it established across the U.S.
About a hundred people held a vocal protest at the restaurant this morning.
There are similar events today in San Jose and Oakland.
Demonstrators will gather at a San Jose McDonald's restaurant on Story Road at 11 a.m., while other protesters will march from Oakland City Hall to a McDonald's on Jackson Street, beginning at 2 p.m.
