Deadly collision involving Caltrain and car in San Bruno

A driver was struck and killed by a Caltrain in San Bruno on Friday. The driver had tried to go around the crossing gates which were blocking the train tracks, officials said.

SAN BRUNO - There has been a deadly collision involving a Caltrain commuter train and a vehicle in San Bruno on Friday morning.

The driver of the vehicle was killed, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office said. 

The driver had attempted to go around the crossing guards to cross the tracks, according to the sheriff's office

The crash occurred at Scot Street near the Tanforan Mall.
