Deadly crash on Highway 87 involved man lying in road, witnesses say
Police are investigating a deadly crash on Highway 87 in San Jose on Wednesday.
Witnesses told KTVU that the victim was a man who'd been seen walking back and forth among the lanes of traffic and had even lain down in the roadway.
The crash was a hit-and-run, sources said.
The investigation caused a major backup for drivers on southbound 87 near the connection to I-280. Several lanes were closed.
