Deadly overnight mobile home fire in Sunnyvale
An overnight fire at a Sunnyvale mobile home park is under investigation, and, there are reports that at least one person has died, and another is in the hospital.
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - A 71-year-old man died in a Sunnyvale mobile home park fire and a 67-year-old woman was rescued and taken to the hospital, according to the Department of Public Safety.
The fire was reported Monday about 10 p.m. at the El Dorado Mobile Home Park in the 600 block of East Weddel Drive.
The woman was last listed Tuesday morning in critical condition. The identification of the man had not yet been released.
Cecilia Ayala Farnzen lives across the street.
“It shook me,” she said. “It gutted the place. I was only outside for maybe a half an hour and the entire place was gone.”
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
