DODGERS WIN WORLD SERIES
The Dodgers have captured their eighth World Series title in franchise history after beating the New York Yankees in Game 5, 7-6.
Down by five in the fifth, the Dodgers made the most of an Aaron Judge error and a misplay between Anthony Rizzo and Gerrit Cole to score five runs. The rally came after the Yankee bats chased Jack Flaherty early in the game – with the former Harvard Westlake pitcher giving up back-to-back homers to New York's Aaron Judge and Jazz Chisholm Jr. in the first inning and then allowing an RBI hit the following inning.
The Yankees then added their fifth run via a Giancarlo Stanton home run in the third inning. Their sixth and latest run comes from an RBI sacrifice fly from Giancarlo Stanton to score Juan Soto.

The Dodgers, leading the best-of-7 game series 3-1, are one win away from winning their first World Series since 2020, eighth in franchise history. In addition to fighting for the Commissioner's Trophy, a Dodger victory means Los Angeles will have a first in-person World Series parade since 1988.
When the Dodgers last won the Fall Classic in 2020 against the Tampa Bay Rays in the COVID-19 bubble in Arlington, Texas, fans back home in Southern California were robbed of an in-person parade due to the pandemic.
