SAN FRANCISCO - The San Francisco Police Department needs help in finding a dog that was stolen during an armed robbery.
The incident took place on Feb. 4 near the intersection of Lincoln Way and La Playa Street, according to the dog's owner.
San Francisco police told the public about the theft on Thursday. It's unclear why the police department waited so long to publicize the news.
The owner reported that she was near her RV when an unidentified man approached her. The suspect allegedly brandished a firearm and demanded the owner's dog. A struggle ensued, during which the assailant resorted to using pepper spray against the woman.
In the course of the robbery, the perpetrator took the woman's keys, entered the RV, and made off with a black Lab-Husky mix named Stella.
Anyone with information on this incident or having information regarding Stella’s whereabouts is asked to call the SFPD Tip Line at 1-415-575-4444 or Text a Tip to TIP411 and begin the text message with SFPD.
