WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - The crash scene in Walnut Creek was cleared on Monday after a Toyota Camry flew off the freeway and landed on the street below.
The California Highway Patrol Officer Brandon Correia said officers first got 911 calls at about 4:30 a.m. regarding the car on Boulevard Way beneath the interchange of I-680 and Highway 24.
He said the car was driven by a man who was traveling eastbound Hwy-24 at the 680 connector to northbound 680.
Correia said the driver was likely going too fast.
The driver sustained injuries and was taken to John Muir hospital in Walnut Creek. No other parties or vehicles were involved, the CHP said.
