Drugs, guns seized in Concord police operation

Items seized by Concord police

A Concord police operation resulted in the arrests of six individuals and the seizure of illicit goods after they received numerous reports of gang-related incidents and assaults occurring at area schools, authorities said.

Concord police detectives served several search warrants at homes on Tuesday and Wednesday after receiving reports of alleged gang-related incidents at schools in the city.

During the operation, detectives recovered two illegal guns, methamphetamine and prescription drugs meant to be sold, ammunition, a weapon that was used in an assault on a school's campus, and some thousands of dollars.

Six people were arrested, officials said.

What we don't know:

Officials didn't specify if any of the arrested were students. It's unclear where the alleged gang-related incidents and assaults occurred.

It also wasn't immediately known if the six were a part of the same gang and affiliated with each other or not.

Editor's Note: An earlier version reported the arrests and seizures that occurred at Concord schools. However, arrests were made at several homes in the City of Concord.
