DURHAM, N.C. (KTVU) - A prominent statue on Duke University's campus has been removed Saturday morning.
The removal comes after the statue of Robert E. Lee was defaced earlier this week.
Lee's statue was one of ten that were damaged. They are all lined up together on the exterior of the campus' chapel.
The school's president decided to remove it after discussing the issue with faculty, alumni, and students.
Duke officials are reviewing surveillance video from inside the chapel and security has been increased in the area.
