Aftershocks are continuing to rattle the Ridgecrest area of Southern California.

It began with a magnitude 6.4 "foreshock" on Thursday, and then the main earthquake, a magnitude 7.1 Friday night.

This region has been rattled by hundreds of temblors in the past few days.

On KTVU Mornings on 2 on KTVU Plus Sunday, USGS geologist emeritus, David Schwartz, talked about the recent quakes, fault lines, and the concerns in the Bay Area.

He predicts that there will be thousands of aftershocks in the days ahead.
